A journey
of Art and Exploration

I am a feminist, nature lover born and raised in Jamaica, now living in the Netherlands. My relationship with art has been a lifelong journey. Growing up, I watched my father hand-paint business signs, long before digital printing took over. He gave me my first set of acrylic paints when I was kindergarten, and that’s when I realize the power of creating something with my own hands.

My early experiments with painting were simple, painting flowers on my classmates’ nails using a blade of grass, just for fun (and for a few sweets in exchange!). But the joy of creation was always there, and it stayed with me, even as life took me in different direction.

Finding my creative voice

After years of focusing on other creative outlets, I reconnected with painting in 2018. What started as a hobby quickly became a much-needed form of expression. By 2020, art had become a vital way for me to process my emotions, especially during uncertain times. Through every stroke, I found a way to make sense of the world around me.

I initially set out to become an architect, inspired by my love for drawing and design. I pursued technical courses in high school and earned a degree in Construction Management in Jamaica. But life had other plans. When I moved to the Netherlands, I found myself captivated by marketing and design, eventually completing a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Business. This shift allowed me to tap into my creativity on a larger scale, exploring new ways to express ideas visually and strategically.

A means of Reflection

The red thread

My creations are constantly evolving. While I feel especially connected to acrylics, I’m always exploring new ways to express the ideas that move me. What remains consistent throughout my process is the desire to tell stories, to share dreams, to capture moments of humanity, and to invite viewers into a deeper emotional dialogue.

Now, my art serves not just as an escape, but as a medium for connection. Whether I’m capturing the strength and beauty of the female form or exploring the deeper layers of the human experience. Through both digital and traditional mediums, I strive to create work that resonates with my being and those who encounter it.
