“Becoming” is a reflection of my journey toward self-realization, capturing the moment of enlightenment where clarity and confidence converge. The painting is meant to give voice to the shared experiences of women worldwide who, through challenges and growth, find peace in who they are. The colors represent the calm after the storm; bold, yet serene. It’s about healing, setting boundaries, and embracing the future with wisdom and purpose.
My Process
While creating “Becoming,” I was in a space of deep introspection. I thought about the phases of my life where confusion turned to clarity, and where pain became the root of strength. This painting is a visual diary of those transformative moments. The vail symbolizes wisdom and protection, while the blues surrounding the figure signify serenity and growth. As I painted, I envisioned women from all walks of life finally stepping into their power, embracing their histories, and readying themselves for what comes next.
