Special projects
Sometimes, my art extends beyond my personal narrative to connect with others in unexpected ways. This is where I dive into commissioned pieces, gifted works, or collaborations that allow me to capture someone else’s story, emotions, or cause. It’s a space for me to explore new ideas and challenge myself artistically, bringing fresh perspectives to my craft.
In bloom
This piece tells the story of two lovers standing with their heads locked in unity, while their distinct flowers symbolize their individuality. Blooming from their head, the flowers further represent the growth they inspire in one another, blossoming together as they nurture each other to become their best selves.
The sea in the background represents the ever-flowing, boundless nature of their love. Like the tides, it's constant yet ever-changing. The earthy colours they wear, shades of brown and rust, is to signify they are rooted and grounded, with a deep connection to nature and each other.

The Brief
The painting was intended to pay tribute to the love of a newly wedded couple. The request for this piece was for it to involve nature and the flower theme that I’m currently exploring. The depiction of two people in love should be recognisable, but should also show the narrative of them growing together without losing the beauty of their individuality.
The gifter
“It’s absolutely beautiful. Really captured the essence of what I’d have liked it to be. and the poem is a lovely addition. i wouldn’t wanna change anything”
The vulnerable man
It was a gift for a Brazilian environmentalist whose favourite animal is the manatee. I had full creative direction and as someone who is also passionate about wildlife, I was inspired to highlight the manatee’s beauty, but also the current predicament of their well-being as an endangered species. I tried to make this visible with the bold use of contrasting colours and to also maintain the realistic profile. I wanted to appreciate the gentle soul of the manatee, but to also capture the sadness behind the struggles of its living conditions.
